Down by the Salley Gardens

Down by the Salley Gardens
My love and I did meet
She passed the Salley Gardens
With little snow-white feet

She bid me take love easy
As the leaves grow on the tree
But I being young and foolish
With her would not agree

In a field by the river
My love and I did stand
And on my leaning shoulder
She laid her snow-white hand

She bid me take life easy
As the grass grows on the weirs
But I was young and foolish
And now am full of tears

"Down by the Salley Gardens "
Lyrics by William Butler Yeats (1865-1939)

What a wonderful world

Recorded by Louis Armstrong
Lyric by Robert Thiele and George David Weiss

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Down by the Salley Gardens - Yeats

Down by the Salley Gardens

My Girl - Never say goodbye

My Girl is one of the most popular South Korean TV dramas this year starred by Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae. It is a story about how Ju Yoo Rin (Lee Da Hae), an unstable tourist guide in Jeju Island is bonded with Seol Gong Chan (Lee Dong Wook), a rich director of a top hotel in Seoul. My Girl is more of a comedy than a drama series. There are a total of 16 episodes, though I think it could be shorter. But it is more light-hearted compared to most of South Korean dramas. It is definitely a must-watch if you like watching South Korean TV dramas.

Say that you love me is a song that reflects exactly the feeling the two main characters have for each other. Beautiful melody!

Never say goodbye is the theme song for the drama. It sounds like a mixture of western rap and S. Korean-pop.

A way of expression

Listening to the music is a fantastic way of relaxing.
It is a world where you can express any kinds of feelings ranging from happiness, sadness, hatred, angry to depression and sorrow. Right now I feel liking doing nothing but immersing myself in music.
It is kind of embarrassing that I am not so sure which kind of music I like the best. However, if you ask me the question, my immediate answer will very likely be Jazz.
When I feel low, I tend to choose Jazz, full of emotion and extremely expressive. The twists and turns in Jazz for me is a good way to send out all the misery feelings. Most of Jazz songs are very touching. Singers have to sing Jazz with their souls. That's my understanding about Jazz. But the dilemma is I don't know many Jazz songs.
I also love American country songs very much. Each song tells a story.
And some Cantonese songs. For some of them can really touch the bottom of your heart.
However, it is sometimes really hard to find an appropriate song for your inner world at the right time, isn't it?
